Who Is Smart?
Smart’s parent company is AgriPlus - Gisborne, which remains a 100% New Zealand family owned agricultural supply business.
Roger Lewis (born 1943) still chairs the company which is co-directed by his two sons, Tim Lewis (born 1966) and Simon Lewis (born 1971).
Tim now leads the management team maintaining the traditional family business values, which are so sought after in today’s business world.
AgriPlus has consistently had two main focuses:
- Supplying seed and crop protection products into the animal forage market
- Supplying specialised crop protection products into the horticultural market.
The Beginning of Smart
Smart’s parent company is AgriPlus - Gisborne, which has been servicing farmers for over 16 years and still remains a 100% New Zealand family owned agricultural supply business.
In 2009, we answered farmer demand to take our 16 years of successful seed and chemical business model into the national animal forage market. This has been accomplished under the Smart brand with excellent buy-in from all types of cropping and livestock farmers.
